Important Notice Regarding Fall 2025 Term Course Materials

The Dal Bookstore will extend the return deadline for unused course materials to September 30, 2025.

This extension applies to print textbooks and course materials purchased for Fall 2025 courses, regardless of the September 15th date referenced in our standard return policy below. 

Unless a further extension is communicated before September 30th, students will have until that date to return unopened, unmarked materials in original condition with receipt for a full refund.
 

 

Return Policy

ALL REFUNDS MUST:

  • Be accompanied with the original receipt.
  • Be in mint condition. Marked, damaged or worn products will not be considered for return.
  • Be in original shrink-wrap. NO RETURNS for opened shrink-wrapped books.
  • Be returned with original tender (i.e. cash, credit card, debit card, or DalCard).

Clothing, Stationery, Dorm Goods

  • May be returned for a full refund within 10 days from date of purchase.
  • Sale items can be exchanged only within 10 days from date of purchase.
  • Defective items can be replaced (like for like) up to 30 days from date of purchase. No refunds.   
  • Fridges and microwaves are final sale.

Textbooks Return Policy

ALL REFUNDS MUST:

FALL-TERM BOOKS

  • May be returned for full refund up to September 15, if purchased after August 1st of the same academic year.
  • May be returned for an in-store credit with a Dropped Course Slip from the Registrar's Office up to and including November 1st.
  • No returns after November 1st.

WINTER-TERM BOOKS

  • May be returned for full refund up to January 15, if purchased after December 1st of the same academic year.
  • May be returned for an in-store credit with a Dropped Course Slip from the Registrar's Office up to March 1st.
  • No returns after March 1st.

FULL-YEAR BOOKS

  • May be returned for full refund up to September 15, if purchased after August 1st.
  • May be returned for an in-store credit with a Dropped Course Slip from the Registrar's Office up to and including November 1st.
  • No returns after November 1st.

SPRING/SUMMER BOOKS

  • May be returned for full refund up to 3 days from date of purchase.

Digital Course Materials, such as eBooks, courseware and simulations are non-returnable.
